Huayna Potosi has been created by Dr. Hugo Berrios Surgeon Martin graduate from the national Universidad Mayor de San Andres, with a degree in emergency medicine. A graduate of the emergency service SAMU de Santiago de Chile in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), and Director and instructor at the School of High Mountain (Huayna Potosi), with school courses taken in high mountain dependency Benasque Huesca Spanish federation of high mountains and courses of DAV (Deutscher Alpenverein) conducted in Austria.

We are the company that built the first refuge shelters at Base Camp 4700mts and field camp at 5300mts of Huayna Potosi. We have achieved first place for the quality of our services for the highest mountain in Bolivia. Mountaineering school of Huayna Potosi is one of the products of our company where courses are held in ice and mountain climbing.

We have also pioneered the route Condoriri Huayna Potos, and one of the first agencies to go to the mountains of Apolobamba (20 years). We have guided the Spanish ONCE (Spanish blind organization) and managed to break one of the world records for blind (Parinacota alt 6330 mts.), expeditions with the British army to Apolobamba and Sajama, Ancohuma survey of members along with OWA / Outdoor Wilderness Agency), drilling at the summit of Illimani (6452 m), work done by the glaciologist Bernard Francou in order to monitor world climate change. We also helped with studies on the effect of hypoxia in young people, conducted by the Copenhagen Muscle Research Center, staying four weeks at the summit of Illimani.
